Consulting and project support

Technical consulting for software and hosting

Planning a new application, a change of provider or the replacement of existing software? We help assess technical proposals, select solutions and prepare implementation, considering peak traffic, hosting costs and future operations.

Give technical decisions a clear foundation

An agency recommends a new platform, your AWS bill rises or a campaign pushes the application to its limits. Perhaps existing software needs replacing while data migration and follow-up costs remain unclear. We help management, project leaders, IT teams and business departments assess such proposals. Together, we establish what your project actually needs, which solutions are suitable and which questions should be answered before commissioning work.

Our assessments draw on projects where we develop, integrate and operate software ourselves over many years. In the past ten years, we have been responsible for client projects with more than 100,000 visitors per day and several million euros in monthly revenue. With such applications, downtime, loading times and operating costs affect the business directly. You can draw on this experience even when your internal IT team or another agency implements the work: consulting can be agreed independently of a subsequent development contract.

We consider software, interfaces and the operating environment together. Can an existing application be extended, which tasks can standard software handle, and where is custom development needed? We also examine which data must be migrated and how to test the migration. Our assessment includes updates, monitoring, backups and recovery, ongoing costs and provider dependencies. You receive a reasoned assessment of the options, open questions and next steps. We identify assumptions and information still requiring verification so the recommendation remains transparent.

Consider peak traffic and hosting costs together

A push notification sent to everyone can bring many people into an application in a short time. We therefore align campaigns and notifications with operational requirements. Together, we assess expected traffic, possible bottlenecks and ways to test the load in advance. The delivery method and timing also matter. The aim is to account for foreseeable peaks during planning and better understand their effects on the application.

When AWS costs rise, we examine what drives spending and which parts of the application actually need the services being used. One option is to move suitable applications back to German data centres. We compare not just hosting prices but also the effort of migration, administration, monitoring, backups and incident response. We support provider selection and the planning of data migration, testing and switchover. The goal is economical operation that still meets availability and performance requirements.

Support selection, migration and rollout

Our support for replacements or new deployments can span several phases. We examine the applications, data and dependencies involved, compare approaches and plan integration, migration and launch with you. We also consider whether data can be exported and operations or development handed over later. During implementation, we support technical coordination between business departments, internal IT and service providers, review proposals and help prepare testing and approvals. We agree who decides, who implements and which tasks we coordinate for each project.

An engagement can begin with a single question about a technical concept, a hosting proposal or your AWS bill. We can also provide regular decision support or accompany a project through several phases. In the first conversation, we clarify your question, available documentation, partners involved and our role. We then agree scope, timeframe and fees. Any implementation work we take on is agreed separately. Tell us what you are planning and which questions remain open; together, we will determine the next steps.
